The North East isn't really known for great skateboarders. Of the ones that do go pro only a handful ever end up getting a shoe. In professional skateboarding getting a shoe is important. It insures that you are going to be rich. At the moment I believe there are only like, three pros from the North East with their own shoe.

Well now there's, like a fourth! Emerica put Brandon Westgate's name on a half cab and they're calling it his signature shoe. Sounds like a plan to me. Here's the commercial.
