Kiss originally wrote this song for Rod Stewart, but after a Kiss ballad ended up becoming a hit, they recorded it themselves to follow it up.

The original song that got Kiss to bare their emotions was Beth. The video cracks me up... these guys in their sci-fi/glam demon make up being so somber.
